FAQ
Is this the right fit for what I'm carrying?
1
If you're standing at a threshold; a shift in identity, a loss, a new season of life, or a questioning of who you've been, you're in territory I know well. I accompany people exploring relationships, sexuality, belonging, grief, and their connections with land, culture, and community. I also work with those seeking to integrate meaningful or challenging psychedelic experiences.*
A particular focus of my practice is accompanying spiritual teachers, community leaders, advocates, and those whose lives involve caring for others. Whether your work unfolds in intimate community spaces, places of worship, or legislative halls, you, too, deserve a place where your experiences can be tended with care.
You don't need to belong to any particular profession, community, or tradition to be welcome here. If your needs would be better served by another kind of care, we can explore appropriate services and referrals together.
*Integration support only, psychedelic treatment not provided.
What is your approach, and what will sessions be like?
We begin with respect for your experience, your dignity, and your boundaries. From there, we make room for what’s alive in you now. Perhaps it's a thought that keeps circling, a feeling you cannot quite name, a heaviness in your chest, or a question that has been quietly accompanying you. Rather than rushing to resolve it, we approach your experience with care and curiosity, allowing understanding to unfold at a pace that respects your readiness.
Our work may involve exploring emotions, attending to bodily sensations, recognizing inherited beliefs, understanding relational patterns, or discovering what your dreams and experiences evoke. My approach is depth-oriented, relational, and attentive to the ways our histories, communities, cultures, and environments participate in shaping our lives. When useful, I also incorporate other modalities including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT)-informed practices, as well as other practical tools.
There is room for insight, uncertainty, laughter, grief, and the ordinary experiences of being human.

What does therapy cost, and why private pay?
3
Individual psychotherapy sessions are $350 for 50 minutes. My practice is private pay for new clients. This allows us to approach your experiences without requiring that every aspect of our work be organized around an insurance diagnosis or billing requirement.
Private pay can offer greater flexibility in how we explore your concerns and may reduce the information routinely shared with insurance companies. It does not eliminate clinical documentation or the legal and ethical responsibilities of psychotherapy.
We can discuss fees and financial expectations before beginning so you can make an informed decision.

How do we begin?
Can I use insurance?
4
Not currently accepting new clients through insurance plans.
You are welcome to reach out through my contact form. We'll begin by exploring what brings you here, what kind of care you're seeking, and whether my approach may be a good fit for your needs.
If we decide to move forward, we'll schedule an initial session where you can share your experiences at a pace that feels appropriate to you. You don't need to have everything figured out before reaching out. Beginning is itself a meaningful part of the process.

How will I know you're the right therapist for me?
Finding a therapist is both a personal and practical decision. You might notice whether you feel heard, whether your questions are welcomed, and whether there is room for your experiences to be understood without rushing toward conclusions. You may feel comfortable immediately, or trust may develop gradually. Discomfort can sometimes be part of meaningful therapeutic work, so feeling at ease in every moment is not the only measure of a supportive relationship.
My academic training includes a PhD in Community, Liberation, Indigenous, and Ecological Psychology and a master's degree in Counseling Psychology, both earned at Pacifica Graduate Institute. My studies encompassed family systems, individuation, dream tending, and somatic awareness, alongside research exploring human sexuality, cultural identity and belonging across the Americas, ecological relationships, liminal experiences, and liberatory approaches to identity. These inquiries continue to inform my work through Tlan Nepantla and Humanismo Relacional (Relational Humanism).
Beyond credentials and therapeutic approaches, I believe the quality of our relationship matters. You are welcome to ask questions, express uncertainty, and participate in deciding whether our work together continues to serve your needs.
How long will therapy take?
There is no single timeline for understanding ourselves or navigating meaningful change. Some people come for a particular transition, loss, or concern. Others choose a longer relationship with psychotherapy to explore recurring patterns, identity, relationships, or questions of meaning. We'll revisit your goals and experiences throughout our work, recognizing what is changing, what continues to need attention, and when it may be appropriate to pause or conclude. Therapy is not meant to become an obligation without end. Its duration should remain in relationship with your needs, goals, and circumstances.
What if I'm curious about depth work but not sure I'm ready?
You don't have to enter the deepest parts of your experience before you feel prepared. Sometimes our first work is simply cultivating enough steadiness, trust, and support to become curious about what has felt difficult to approach. We can begin by recognizing your resources, boundaries, and the relationships that sustain you.
Depth does not require haste. And meaningful work can happen even when we remain close to the surface, learning to recognize what is present.
Do I need to know my "issue" before starting?
No. You don't need to arrive with a diagnosis, a clearly defined problem, or an explanation for everything you're experiencing. Sometimes we recognize that something in our lives is asking for attention long before we understand what it is. Curiosity is welcome. So are uncertainty, hesitation, and the simple wish to know yourself more fully. We can begin wherever you are.
Is what I share confidential?
Confidentiality is an essential part of psychotherapy.
What you share is protected by professional ethics and applicable privacy laws. There are, however, circumstances in which disclosure may be required or permitted by law, including certain safety concerns, mandated reports of abuse or neglect, and legally authorized court processes. Before we begin, we'll review confidentiality, its limitations, and your rights so you can make informed choices about your care. You are always welcome to ask how your information is protected.

Do you offer psychedelic integration?
I ask for at least 48 hours' notice if you need to cancel or reschedule a session.
